The student is introduced to all coding rules associated with portions of Surgery, Radiology/Lab, and Medicine, with hands-on practices throughout. This coding course may be taken by itself or with the associated coding courses in any order.

- Understand cardiovascular services across three sections of the CPT (Surgery, Medicine and Radiology)
- State the coding rules for arteries and veins
- Define the rules of coding cardiovascular services when using codes from the Medicine section
- Identify the major rules of coding cardiovascular services using the Radiology section codes
- Demonstrate the ability to code cardiovascular services
- Understand the format and codes of the male genital system subsection
- Understand the format and codes of the urinary system subsection
- Understand the format and codes of the digestive system subsection
- Understand the format of the mediastinum/diaphragm subsection codes
